Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce full details in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
