Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft flying above a popular southern California beach unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a line of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Recordings uploaded on social media depict the aircraft beginning to twirl over the beach then descending near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were injured. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
